DESCRIPTION:

Released in 1972, Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying is the third studio album by the British musician Labi Siffre, and the first he produced entirely himself. The record showcases Siffre’s unique blend of soul, folk, and pop with deeply personal and socially conscious songwriting. The album features intimate, piano-driven arrangements, gentle acoustic guitar, and Siffre’s warm, expressive vocals, creating a reflective and emotionally resonant atmosphere throughout. Lyrically, it explores themes of love, vulnerability, identity, and the human condition, while subtly addressing social and political issues, including equality and human rights.
