THROBBING GRISTLE - D.O.A. THE THIRD AND FINAL REPORT (TRANSPARENT GREEN COLOURED) VINYL
THROBBING GRISTLE
Industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle initially released their sophomore album “D.o.A. The Third and Final Report of Throbbing Gristle” in 1978. This essential, nauseating masterpiece has been masterfully restored and remastered by Chris Carter, the album comes as part of a flood of TG rereleases to mark TG's return to Industrial Records after a 30 year hiatus.
'The Third and Final Report of Throbbing Gristle' famously includes a solo track from each of the four individual band members. Peter Christopherson's "Valley of the Shadow of Death" and Cosey Fanni Tutti's "Hometime" are both detached, atmospheric spoken word collages, while Genesis P-Orridge's "Weeping" is a sorrowful anti-love song. By sharp contrast, Chris Carter's "AB/7A" is a vibrant, chipper slice of futuristic instrumental synth pop, almost fit to soundtrack a Tomorrowland ride. Essential stuff. One of TG's grimmest, most disturbing records, "D.o.A. The Third and Final Report” is easily one of their most compelling.
